The research firm Kantar Worldpanel has published a report according to which the iPhone 7 has become the best-selling smartphone of the first quarter of this year in most regions, including the US and Europe. In the five largest European markets, the share of Apple has grown by 2,4% – to 22.7%. Smartphones running Android have also shown impressive growth in market share in almost all regions, except the United States.
Also, the report says that Android and iOS are increasing their share by displacing other operating systems. According to Kantar, the share of Windows Phone is less than 1% in many markets. Meanwhile, it takes 1.3% in the USA, which is two times smaller compared to 2.6% at the beginning of last year.
The greatest demand Apple products are in Japan, where the proportion of kupertinovskoy company is 49.5%, and in Australia, where the company owns 42.4% of the market. But in China, Apple’s share fell by 8.4% over the past year. This is largely due to the fact that in rural areas, many people are buying their first smartphone, choosing more affordable solutions from other manufacturers. At the same time in major Chinese cities 7 iPhone still remains the best-selling smartphone.
