LG G Pro 2 might be lauched in India in multiple colors

LG India has just announced its G Pro 2 Android smartphone will be available in the country sometime next month. Although there’s no word on the exact release date and on how much it will cost, customers in India should expect it to be tagged with a pretty high price given its specs sheet.

The information has been recently confirmed by LG India marketing head, Amit Gujral, in an interview for Indian blog site Gadgets to Use. According to him, LG G Pro 2 is now in the final stages of testing for the Indian market and is slated for a May release at all major retailers across the country.

The LG G Pro 2 was released in South Korea a few months ago and has seen tremendous demand among Android fans. Apparently this is one of the reasons why LG has decided to bring the G Pro 2 to a wider audience, though the Indian market is not among the most profitable for the South Korean handset maker.

Most of LG’s high-end smartphone are overpriced in India, and the company doesn’t seem to be willing to change its pricing policy anytime soon.

This means that we should expect the G Pro 2 to be priced similar to other flagship smartphones launched in India recently, including the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8).

Price aside, LG G Pro 2 is a very powerful Android smartphone. The device is armed with a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It also boasts a huge 5.9-inch True IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection.

More importantly, the smartphone will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, which is a big deal given LG’s long-time history of not being able to upgrade its products to the latest version of Android.

Another major feature included in the G Pro 2 is the 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording. There’s also a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera in the front, which is perfect for selfies and video calls.

Even though we have yet to get confirmation, LG G Pro 2 might be launched in India in multiple color options, such as: Titan, White, Silver, and Burgundy. Keep in mind, though, that while the G Pro 2 offers LTE support, it does not come with dual-SIM capability.
