We just found out that LG isn’t the only major smartphone maker that has a new triple SIM Android handset. Samsung is playing this game as well. And, just like LG, it’s doing it with a very low-end smartphone.

Meet the Samsung Galaxy Star Trios, which seems to be just a slightly updated Galaxy Star S5280 (this one was released in the first half of 2013).

The Galaxy Star Trios was recently launched by Samsung in Brazil. LG’s triple SIM handset, called Optimus L1 II Tri, is also available there, so we’re guessing that people really need this kind of smartphones ’round those parts.

Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Star Trios features a 3.14-inch QVGA (240 x 320) display, single-core 1GHz Snapdragon S1 processor, HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 2MP rear camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable internal memory, and a 1,300 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Star Trios can be bought via numerous retailers in Brazil – in either black, or white. It’s more expensive than LG’s Optimus L1 II Tri, being sold for around $165. That is a lot of money for what the phone is offering.
